What to send for a quotation
Send the source documents, source and target languages, intended audience and required delivery date. Editable files, previous approved translations, reference materials and a terminology list help define a consistent brief. Tell us whether the text is for internal use, publication or submission to a specific receiving body.
How the assignment is planned and delivered
- 1.
Analyze the source files and agree the language pair, volume, subject matter, delivery format and approved translation references.
- 2.
Use CAT tools to align segments, apply approved translation memories and client termbases, then carry out the agreed human review and automated checks for numbers, tags and possible omissions.
- 3.
Check formatting and the agreed deliverables, retain a reviewable revision trail where scoped, and deliver the final files with any terminology or formatting clarifications.
Deliverables and scope boundaries
Editing, proofreading, layout work and additional revision rounds should be specified in the quotation. Standalone editing and proofreading are available for reports, proposals, research papers, websites and other institutional content. Proofreading checks spelling, grammar and punctuation; editing can also address clarity, structure and consistency. Agree the revision scope, reference style and formatting requirements separately from translation review. For conferences, agendas, presentations and participant documents can be coordinated with interpreter preparation and agreed terminology. Translation does not automatically include certification, notarization or acceptance by an authority; tell us any formal requirements before the scope is agreed.
What affects the quotation
The quotation depends on language pair, word count, technical complexity, file quality, formatting needs and turnaround. Scanned files or extensive layout work can require a different scope from an editable document.
Questions about this service
What if the receiving authority requires certified translation?
Share the document and the receiving authority’s exact requirements before booking. The available certification arrangement and any related costs are confirmed for that document; acceptance is determined by the receiving authority.
Can I request editing or proofreading without translation?
Yes. Share the existing text, intended audience, reference style, deadline and required level of revision. The quotation distinguishes proofreading from substantive editing and any additional formatting.
Can you translate legal or technical documents?
Linguative handles legal, technical and institutional content. Send a sample and any specialist terminology so the subject matter and review requirements can be assessed before confirmation.
Does document translation include proofreading and formatting?
Review and formatting requirements are agreed for the assignment. Specify whether you need translated text only or a formatted document ready for its intended use.
Which translation languages are available?
Linguative translates between Arabic and English, and between Arabic or English and French. Other language pairs are available on request. Specify both the source and target language so availability and the subject matter can be confirmed.
How long will document translation take?
The delivery schedule is confirmed after reviewing the files, word count, subject matter and required checks. Share your deadline and identify any documents needed first so a phased delivery can be considered. Urgent delivery is subject to confirmation.
Can you translate scanned PDFs?
Send a readable sample for assessment. Scans, tables and images can require text preparation and additional formatting. Where available, an editable source file helps define the scope and preserve document structure.
How should we prepare confidential documents?
Mention confidentiality requirements before sending sensitive material. Agree the file-sharing method, access arrangements and any required confidentiality agreement before the assignment starts.
How do we choose a translation provider in Amman?
Compare experience with your document type, the language pair, terminology management, review scope, delivery format and deadline. Ask what the quotation includes and disclose any receiving-body requirements. For conference documents, consider how written translations will be coordinated with the interpreters and event team.
